An Operation Assistance System for Injection Molding Machines Based on Constraints Processing

Abstract An assistance system for tuning a operation condition of injection molding machines based on a constraint processing method is proposed in this paper. First one is based on a simulation. We derive constraints of machine condition from the simulation results. Second one is knowledge based constraints processing that is derived from operators' experience. These constraints help operators search optimal conditions. The last method is a graphical browser using the Hierarchical Operation Record Graph(HORG). This graph helps the operator recognize a tuning process in multi-dimensional space and find out an effective method for solving molding problems
