The invention discloses a high-merit figure P-type FeNbHfSb thermoelectric material. The composition of raw materials is FeNb1-xHfxSb, wherein x is 0.06-0.2. The invention further discloses a preparation method of the P-type FeNbHfSb thermoelectric material, wherein the preparation method comprises the following steps: weighing raw materials iron, niobium, hafnium and antimony according to a chemical dosage ratio of the composition FeNb1-xHfxSb, melting the raw materials under the protection of argon to obtain ingots; crushing the ingots into particles, and sintering the particles to obtain the P-type FeNbHfSb thermoelectric material. The high-merit figure P-type FeNbHfSb thermoelectric material and the preparation method thereof have the advantages of simple preparation process, short production cycle and high production efficiency; the prepared P-type FeNbHfSb thermoelectric material has good high temperature stability; the composing elements of the P-type FeNbHfSb thermoelectric material are rich in the earth crust, so that the industrialization cost is low; when the maximum zT value reaches 1.45 at 1200 K, which is the highest performance obtained in the Half-Heusler system at present.
