Superconducting Magnets for Magnetic Resonance Imaging

1989
A High homogeneous and stable field, the reduction of a fringe field, the minimization of cryogen consumption are necessary for MRI magnets. This paper presents key technologies to satisfy these requirements. Joints of conductors, effects of superconducting shim coils on error fields caused by irons, iron yoke shield, and a low heat load cryostat equipped with a shield refrigerator are mentioned.
