Study of Calcium Oxide Nanoparticles Synthesized by Solvothermal Method

2019
Calcium oxide (CaO) nanoparticles have been synthesized by simple solvothermal method using a domestic microwave oven. The reaction of calcium acetate with urea in ethylene glycol and by adding different mole% of manganese acetate as dopant was studied. The structural and optical properties of the proposed nanoparticles were investigated. The structural properties were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The average particle size of the obtained cubic CuO nanoparticles was 18.49–24.50 nm. The optical properties of the prepared samples were characterized by UV-Visible (UV-Vis) absorption spectral analysis.
