The effect of gallopamil p.o. on global and regional ventricular function in patients with coronary heart disease

1989
On the basis of its pharmacodynamic profile, gallopamil, a methoxy derivative of verapamil, is a specific calcium antagonist (8). Its anti-anginal efficacy has been demonstrated in a number of trials involving patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) in which the assessment criterion was the exercise ECG (6,12,16, 21, 23, 35, 37). However, a study using emission tomography has also shown that myocardial microperfusion improves under gallopamil (10).
