The effect of glucocorticoid combined with growth hormone in the treatment of patients with suba-cute-on-chronic hepatic failure

Objective To explore the effect of glucocorticoid combined with growth hormone in the treatment of patients with subacute-on-chronic hepatic failure. Methods 53 patients with subacute-on-chronic hepatic failure were selected and 14 patients received treatment of glucocorticoid,11 received glucocorticoid combined with growth hormone and other 28 received conventional therapy. Result The survival rate,similar with that in glucocorticoid therapy (21.4%) in glucocorticoid combined with growth hormone treatment was 18.2%,much lower than in conventional group (53.6%,P0.01). Conclusion Glucocorticoid combined with growth hormone in treatment of patients with subacute-on-chronic hepatic failure can effectively decrease the mortality rate.
