Construcción de un cuestionario sobre la actividad fisioterapéutica en pacientes con dolor lumbar crónico de origen no específico

Introduction: low back pain represents one of the most important health problems in western industrialized societies. Among 70 to 85 % of the population (have an episode) will suffer from low back pain at some point of their lives. Its annual prevalence ranges from 15 to 45 %. Literature analysis shows that there is a wide variability of treatments and effectiveness of the interventions used by physiotherapists. Aim: creation of a questionnaire based on a survey to know the progress of a physiotherapist’s intervention in the treatments of patients with non-specific low back pain in centres belonging to the Spanish National Health Service. Methods: the process of creation of the questionnaire has been based on other previous questionnaires. Four experts were consulted as a general method of prospective and of countersignature. Afterwards,a pilot study was carriet out, in which 17 physiotherapists with clinical experience in treatments of chronic low back pain were included. The aim was to ensure clarity and precision of the language used in the questionnaire, to avoid measurement mistakes resulting from different interpretations. Results: a questionnaire which consists of 57 questions is proposed. It is divided into 5 categories: I. Personal characteristics,which consists of 8 questions; II. Characteristics of patients and treatments, which consists of 5 questions; III. Diagnostic evaluation of patients, which consists of 8 questions; IV. Treatment interventions, which consists of 27 questions; and V. Choice of the intervention used, which consists of 8 questions.
