Laparoscopy performed at bedside is a valuable diagnostic tool that can be used safely and efficiently in the evaluation of intra-abdominal pathologies, especially in ICU patients. Indeed, the conventional diagnostic evaluations, including history/physical examination/serum investigations, plain film X-rays, ultrasonography (US), and computed tomography (CT) (the latter requiring transport to the radiology suite) are sometimes frustrating.
