INVESTIGATION ON INFECTIOUS DISEASE PREVENTION AND PRESENT SITUATION OF DISINFECTION IN SOME KINDERGARTENS IN GUANGDONG PROVINCE

Objective To assess the situation of infectious disease prevention and the disinfection in the kindergartens in order to provide proposal for improving the management quality of kindergartens.Methods On-the-spot investigation method and consulting materials were used to carry out investigation of 10 kindergartens in Guangdong Province.Results All of the 10 kindergartens investigated had formulated the sanitary disinfection and isolation system.Most kindergartens performed daily early morning examination in children,but the infection-control management in health centers of kindergartens was weak,the diet preparation rooms were short of facilities for hands washing and disinfection,and for preventing rodents,mosquitoes and flies.Most kindergartens used the chlorine disinfectants for disinfection of environment,the toys and towels.It was common to use disinfection cabinet for disinfection of children's tableware and the drinking cups.The disinfection appliances purchased by the kindergartens generally had no perfect certificates and the expired disinfectants were often used.The method of disinfection was improper in private and the town-level kindergartens.The main type of water taps for washing children's hands was the hand-turnin switch;the soaps were the commonly used for cleaning hands.Conclusions The basic disinfection facilities in private and the town-level kindergartens are lacking.The training work for preventing the infectious diseases,disinfection and food sanitation in kindergarten needs to be strengthened.
