In the field of mechanical testing the accreditation according to DIN EN 45001 of testing laboratories becomes more and more important. In the field of destructive testing first steps were taken to gather basic results on the test performance of European testing laboratories. This article summarises the results of the first proficiency testing programme for 91 mechanical testing laboratories in Europe. The programme covered the standard tensile test according to DIN EN 10002 part 1.
