Therapeutic management and haemato- biochemical evaluation of canine parvo virus infection

Three pup cases were presented with the complaint of vomition, bloody diarrhea and decreased feed intake clinical examination revealed severe dehydration. Haematological examinations revealed sub normal haemoglobin, erythrocyte count and PCV. Biochemical parameters were within normal range. All animals were treated with fluid therapy (DNS and Ringers lactate) for restoration of electrolytes and fluid balance and antibiotics (Ceftriaxone) for seven days to prevent secondary bacterial infection. All the pups recovered uneventfully on seventh or eighth day.
