Las ánforas de Brindisi en Hispania Citerior. Pautas de distribución y consumo

2017
In our study we propose that the Brindisi amphorae arrived at the Iberian Peninsula during a chronological period from 150 to 50 BC. This could be related in many cases with the presence of Italian civilian and military elites who intervened in the organisation and conquest of the Citerior and Ulterior provinces. Those containers mainly carried olive-oil and to less extent wine. We believed that the Brindisi amphorae are excellent archaeological indicators, among other things, of the evolution of Roman conquest and settlement of Hispania. This indicator is especially useful for the second half of the 2nd cent. BC in which we have scarse well-dated archaeological evidence.
