The reemergence of sexually transmitted infections in Israel [letter]

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are reemerging in Israel. Any new information on the subject such as the recent paper by Srguo et al. (IMAJ 2003;5:24-7) is most welcome. Yet the epidemiology of these infections in Israel is changing at such a pace that an update is warranted. Since 1998-99 we are facing a sharp increase in the incidence of gonorrhea in the country as a whole and in the Tel Aviv area in particular. (excerpt)
