1P-571 Synthesis of vitamin A derivatives for the production of anti-aging cosmetic raw materials

The Vitamin A is effective on the skin wrinkles and widely applied to the anti-aging cosmetics. However most Vitamin A comes from abroad for the domestic market. Considering its high price, tech-development and localization of the material must be performed for the domestic anti-aging cosmetic industry. It is also known that Vitamin A can cause side effects such as skin irritation when it is directly applied to cosmetics. Thus the stabilization is required for its application to the industrial process. The technology for the bio-Vitamin A is being developed through the convergence of chemical and biological processes to solve the problems and the derivatization process of the Vitamin A was studied in this study. Commercial vitamin A was used for the materials and its derivatization was performed using the esterification which is the method for alcohol derivatization. The derivatives synthesized would be recovered as crystals and several solvents were tested to find the best solvent.
