In Utero Diagnosis of Isolated Obstructed Supracardiac Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection

2002
Complex cardiac malformations can be diagnosed on the basis of fetal echocardiography as early as the late first trimester. 1-3 In fetuses with heterotaxy syndrome, there is a high likelihood of associated anomalies of pulmonary venous connections. It is rare to make the prenatal diagnosis of isolated total anomalous pulmonary venous connection. We report a case in which the diagnosis of isolated supracardiac obstructed total anomalous pulmonary venous connection was made accurately on the basis of fetal echocardiography at 32 weeks' gestation. The diagnosis was confirmed on postnatal echocardiography and at surgery.
