LESSONS FROM COLLABORATIVE STUDIES ON IN VITRO ASSAYS TO DETECT CHROMOSOME ABERRATIONS

Several large-scaled international collaborativestudies have been carried out for evaluation of short-term mutagenicity tests under the direction of theInternational Programme on Chemical Safety (IPCS).The results obtained are useful for validating anddeveloping test schemes.In spite of these tremendousefforts,it is still difficult to establish internationalstandard of test schemes in some short-term tests.
