Persistence of newer insecticides against pulse beetle [Callosobruchus maculatus (Fabricius)] in green gram

2017
The persistence of spinosad 45 SC, indoxacarb 15 EC, imidacloprid 200 SL and deltamethrin 2.8 EC (standard check) against Callosobruchus maculates revealed that deltamethrin was highly effective and showed cent per cent adult mortality upto 45 days after treatment (DAT). Its persistence decreased gradually at 60 and 90 DAT when an adult mortality of 93.33 and 90.00 per cent respectively was recorded. Progeny emergence at different storage intervals revealed that deltamethrin was effective upto 60 DAT. It performed better than all other insecticides and recorded lower adult emergence (2.67 at 90 DAT). At 90 DAT, spinosad 45 SC at 3.5 mg a.i. kg1 recorded significantly lower adult emergence (7.33) as compared to indoxacarb and imidacloprid. Germination of treated green gram seed was not affected upto 3 months of storage.
