Effects of dark septate endophytes (DSE) on sugarcane seedling growth.

2013
【Objective】 The effects of DSE fungi on sugarcane seedling growth were evaluated to screen out the strains which could significantly promoted the sugarcane seedling growth and provide references for application of DSE on fertilizer and energy saving in sugarcane production and virtuous cycle of sugarcane filed ecosystem.【Method】Six DSE fungi imported from Japan were used to inoculate into plantlets and pot seedling of sugarcane to evaluate their effects on sugarcane seedling growth.【Result】The results showed that the fungi could increase plantlet height and dry weight of pot seedling at different level. The LtVB3 strain(Meliniomyces variabilis) had prominent effects on promoting plantlet height and dry weight which were increased by 68.69% and 56.66% at significant level compared to the control, respectively. The dry weight of pot seedling was increased by 40.00% compared to the control. The strains promoted sugarcane seedling growth in a stable manner.【Conclusion】There were isolates in DSE fungi which could well promote sugarcane growth.LtVB3 had prominent potential of development and utilization in these imported DSE isolates.
