Security Constrained Unit Commitment Considering Time Shift of Air-conditioning Load for Demand Response

A new method is proposed for the security constrained unit commitment considering the time shift of air-conditioning load as a demand response strategy participating in the power system to reduce the ramping demand. Firstly, the mathematical model of the air-conditioning load is introduced. Then, a time shift model of the air-conditioning load is proposed. At last, security constrained unit commitment considering the time shift of air-conditioning load is established. Simulation results demonstrate the advantage of considering the time shift of air-conditioning load for demand response that can reduce the ramping demand and improve the economics of the power system.
