The Significance of Expression of IL-10, TNF-α in Prostate Hyperplasia and Prostate Cancer Tissues

2012
Objective To investigate the cytobiology in different prostate disease, and therefore to provide new screening and treatment meathods by analyzing the expression level of the inflammatory cell factors IL-10, TNF-α in prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer tissues. Methods 20 cases of benign prostate hyperplasia and 20 cases prostate cancer were entered in this study respectively; all specimens were confirmed by pathological examinations. 1 case of normal prostate specimen was used as control. Immunohistochemical staining were performed to observe the expression of IL-10 and TNF-α, and the image analysis technique was used to compare the light absorption density of each specimens. Results IL-10 was expressed in three groups: benign prostate hyperplasia, prostate cancer and the normal control. Light absorption density value of IL-10 in the above three kinds of samples were 0.312 1±0.093 6、0.295 8±0.032 9、0.081 6±0.073 2. TNF-α in the above three groups were 0.402 1±0.065 2、0.325 9±0.048 7、0.101 6±0.082 5. The expression levels of IL-10 and TNF-α in three groups were different statisticantly. Conclusions The higher expression TNF-α in hyperplasia prostate tissue may due to prostate hyperplasia, structure damage, and inflammation. The higher expression of IL-10 in prostate hyperplasia, may result from inflammatory response. The expressions of IL-10, TNF-α in prostate cancer tissue maybe involved in inflammatory response caused by rapid growth of cancer tissue.
