Facet effect of Bi5O7I nanocrystals on selective oxidation of benzylamine under visible light

Exploiting photocatalysts for selective oragnic oxidation is important but still challenging. Boosting photocatalytic acitvity in benzylamine oxidation was found for (010) facetted Bi5O7I through facet engineering. Further characterizations revealed that visible light absorption, charge separation, valence band and adsorption of benzylamine synergistically contribute the outstanding activity.
