The measurement of gamer’s emotion using immersion rate and questionnaire

An emotional engineering, a new area of engineering technology that takes this into account, has been applied to various industries as users aim to meet not only physical convenience but also emotional satisfaction. For this reason, the game industry is also actively seeking to develop games with the aim of satisfying users' emotions. Therefore, a system that called emotional evaluation was applied in the pre-launch development stage of the game. The emotional evaluation is an evaluation method to verify the usability of game interfaces, systems and gamers' emotional needs. However, there may have disadvantages that the evaluation method to be selected is determined by the evaluator's opinion and it is difficult to quantify immersion in numbers. So we have a problem where the answers can vary depending on whether the gamer is immersed or not. Therefore, to solve the above problem in this study, we propose new methods to increase the reliability of emotional evaluation by measuring the immersion level of gamers using eye-tracking technology and evaluation system.
