Identification of diffusion coefficients in heat equation on the base of non-adiabatic measurements of ferrofluids

2016
The article concerns the heat flow problem during magnetic field excitation of superparamagnetic fluid. Precise determination of the energy converted into the heat is important issue defining applicability of the phenomena in the Magnetic Fluid Hyperthermia therapy. However it can be done only when all other heat transfer parameters are known, which often not true. Authors presented method of identification of those parameters by the use of numerical model based on the finite element method. Nearly perfect match with real measurements has been reached with three parameters optimization. Results helped to identify heat leakage which could lead into over 50% underestimation of the thermal energy provided into the ferrofluid.
