Welding Workstation Planning with Use of CAD Software and Simulation

2019
Increasing productivity cannot be achieved without modernization, reconstruction and automation wherever is monotonous work or work in a harmful environment. Automation of technological processes must be understood in a comprehensive way. Its use cannot be restricted to just one machine. It should be noted that this includes automated transportation, material handling, inspection and measurement, tool change etc. It is necessary to deal with the optimization of the solution both technically and economically to deal with a specific case. When designing a robotized workstation, it is important to correctly select the functional units that will be used in the workplace. The paper focuses on choosing the right components for designing a robotic welding workstation, increasing productivity, and eliminating downtime by applying a 6-axis industrial robot. Using an industrial robot allows us to eliminate the risk of human error, ease work and eliminate the monotony of the human working environment. The advantage of using an industrial robot is to protect people from endangering their lives in health-hazardous locations where there are unfavorable conditions for people’s work. The case study compares individual workplace designs and points to the problem to be solved when designing a robotic welding site.
