Research in psychoneuroimmunology frequenty refers to psychological constructs that are proposed to be important for the regulation of immunological and endocrinological processes. These constructs are often poorly defined with different experts sometimes using varying definitions of the same concept are conceptually and theoretically blurred—the same notion may be used to explain different concepts and constructs. Furthermore, the concepts may have something in common with each other that is not readily obvious to everyone.
