Rapid quenching on the binary systems of high temperature oxides
1974
Abstract Various high temperature binary oxides were rapidly quenched from the liquid state. The structure of the quenched oxides were examined by X-ray diffraction. 12 systems have produced pure non-crystalline solid (NCS). 12 systems have formed NCS+crystal. NCS forming region has been represented by plotting the radius ratio of cation VS the number of oxygens par cation. There is a line from the system ZrO 2 Nb 2 O 5 to the NiOBaO under which NCS was not obtained. Most systems were made into NCS above this line.
