ONE-DIRECTIONAL COLD PULL OF A THREE-DIMENSIONAL PIPING SYSTEM

1985
Currently, the majority of cold sprung systems are designed with cold springing applied equally in all directions. In many cases, however, a one-directional cold pull of a three-dimensional system can be quite effective in controlling terminal equipment loadings. This paper outlines a procedure for a one-directional cold spring analysis as applied to the steam lines of a nuclear power station. The method is compatible with the majority of current stress analysis programs.
