Control of the quality of forged piece in shaft press-forging CAPP

The paper deals with the concept of quality control for the processing of metal in forged pieces depending on fuzzy goals on the example of calculating dimensions of an upset-forged ingot under computer-aided design of shaft press-forging. Within the problem considered, a concept of membership functions for decisions depending on stated goals is introduced and formalized, and the practical application of these functions to the solution of technological problems is demonstrated. The proposed approach can be used to develop algorithms and programs for computer-aided design of the forging of various forged pieces.
