Grieving and at the mercy of 'justice'

2005
An overview of wrong judgements being passed in court trials regarding infant deaths in the UK due to flawed opinions of experts under the protection of secrecy and anonymity is presented. Opinion evidence is not admissible in English Courts, whose decisions and verdicts must be based on facts proven in the criminal Courts beyond the reasonable doubt. Paediatricians claim that up to forty percent of sudden infant deaths are murders diagnosed as cot deaths. It is suggested that the track record of each expert should be examined as to whether they have ever given evidence for prosecution or defence.
