HUMOR AS SEEN IN SPIDERMAN FAR FROM HOME FILM BY JON WATSS

The writer analyzed Humor as Seen in Spiderman Far From Home film by Jon Watss. This film showed that humor occurs by maxim flouting, it causes misunderstanding between speakers and hearers, because of both participants do not obey the rules of the maxim in conversation. The objectives of this research are to identify the forms of humor that appear to all of the characters in Spiderman Far From Home film where Peter Parker as the main character wants to be like a normal teenager and he must divide his life between saving the world or enjoying the sweetness of adolescence with his friends and a girl whom he loved during a European vacation. There are also many struggles for Peter Parker to realize his dream to express love to MJ and also a lot of funny happenings when Peter and his friends on a holiday trip. The writer analyzes the flouting of the maxim that occur in Spiderman Far From Home film, and to describe the functions of humor. The writer used the humor theory by Martin that discusses forms of humor, maxim theory by H. Paul Grice that discusses types of flouting maxim, and the functions of humor by Attardo’s theory. This research employed qualitative research and descriptive method. The writer uses the techniques of documentation for collecting the data. Based on the formulation of the problem, this research reveals the findings. There are: First, forms and types of humor which indicated joke, spontaneous in; irony, satire, sarcasm, overstatement, self-deprecation, teasing, clever replies a serious statement, double entendres, pun, and unintentional humor. Second, there are the maxim of quality flouting, the maxim of quantity flouting, maxim of relevance flouting, and maxim of manner flouting. Third, their categories and types function of humor which indicated social management; social control, ingratiation, discourse management, and repair. And another category functions of humor; decommitment, probing, salvaging, and defunctionalization. Penulis menganalisis tentang Humor yang terjadi pada film Spiderman Far From Home by Jon Watss, film ini menunjukkan banyak bentuk humor serta kesalahan maxim di dalamnya yang menyebabkan penutur menjadi salah paham dan tidak mematuhi aturan maxim yang ada di percakapan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk humor yang diucapkan oleh semua karakter di dalam dalam film Spiderman Far From Home by Jon Watss, ketika Peter Parker sebagai pemeran utama ingin menjalani kehidupan layaknya seorang remaja, tetapi ia harus membagi tugas antara menyelamatkan dunia atau menikmati liburan bersama teman-teman dan gadis yang ia cintai. Peter melakukan berbagai cara untuk mendapatkan cinta dari MJ dan banyak kejadian yang lucu selama film ini berlangsung, Penulis menganalisis bagaimana terjadinya kesalahan maxim pada film Spiderman Far From Home by Jon Watss, dan menggambarkan fungsi-fungsi humor. Penulis menggunakan teori humor dari Martin yang membahas bentuk-bentuk humor, teori maxim oleh H. Paul Grice yang membahas tentang jenis-jenis kesalahan maxim, dan fungsi-fungsi humor dari teori Attardo. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan metode deskiptif. Penulis menggunakan teknik dokumentasi dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan rumusan masalah, penelitian ini telah mengungkap tiga temuan. Terdiri dari; Pertama, bentuk dan jenis humor yang menunjukkan tiga data sebagai joke, di dalam spontaneous yaitu; irony, satire, sarcasm, overstatement, self-deprecation, teasing, clever replies to serious statement, double etendres, pun, and unintentional humor. Kedua, ada beberapa tipe maxim yaitu maxim of quality flouting, maxim of quantity flouting, maxim of relevance flouting, maxim of manner flouting. Ketiga, ada kategori dan jenis fungsi humor yang mengidentifikasikan sebagai social management; social control, ingratiation, discourse management, and repair. Ada kategori fungsi humor yang lain yaitu; decommitment, probing, salvaging, and defunctionalization.
