Decoupling Economic Growth from Fossil Fuels

The decoupling of fossil fuels from economic growth
has not been imaginable for most of the industrial era but is now underway. The
data for this are presented for the world and for typical nations. The
mechanisms behind this are outlined and suggest that climate change goals to
end poverty and to achieve the phasing out of fossil fuels are achievable if
the trends are mainstreamed.
