CPR BRINGS DYING PAVEMENT BACK TO LIFE

1997
When it comes to concrete pavement restoration (CPR), the Georgia Department of Transportation is a leader. For 20 years, GDOT has maintained its concrete roads through the use of CPR contractors and their own maintenance force. The maintenance process involves under sealing the slabs, replacing broken slabs, doing spall repairs, milling the pavement with diamond grinding machines, and sealing the joints. CPR can also include dowel-bar retrofits. This article provides an overview of GDOT's concrete pavement restoration program.
