Analysis of Object Following Robot Module Using Android, Arduino and Open CV, Raspberry Pi with OpenCV and Color Based Vision Recognition

This research paper elaborates the development and design for object following robot (especially in hospitals, hotels, tourist places, defense, automation industry etc.) where these robots can follow the humans and assist them whenever the help is required from them. In the different countries in the world (especially India and many poor, developing, and underdeveloped countries), lakhs of patients die every year just because of a lack of proper medical care provided to them. In the defense sector, we can use the object following robot to keep a continuous surveillance on the international border line of our country without any lapse. By doing so, we can avoid a huge casualty in the form of manpower, assets, and natural resources. In a study, a fact is observed that the proportion of increase of total number of ill patients around the world to the total number of doctors and nurses available for the treatment has been very unfair. There is a rapid increase in ill patients every year, but there is a very low number of increases of trained and skilled doctors and nurses in many countries around the world. Especially in India, the doctors are under very high pressure due to a large number of patients that come to them for their treatment. So, the object (human) following robot will help in reducing the pressure of requirement of skilled and trained medical staff in the hospitals. Whenever a patient needs medical assistance (wanting a specific medical) the robot can be used. The robot can follow the patient by following a fixed path and help the patient. In the case of hotels also, during peak hours, there is a tremendous pressure on hotel management and its staff to meet all the needs of their customers (temporary residents). Especially, if there is an event or a fair near the local area, then the hotel management undergoes very high pressure due to the increased number of their customers. These robots can provide big help in these situations. Whenever a hotel resident calls out the hotel staff for help, these robots can follow fixed path and reach out to help them. In the same way, the total number of people visiting tourist places is increasing each year around the world. So there is a tremendous demand for more guides and helps the visitors in these unknown places. These robots can help the tourists at these places if they are lost and need help.
