The author focuses on the link that can be documented between some museums and some international exhibitions in the second half of the 19 th century and the first one of the 20 th . We study specifically museums that were created from collections or materials exhibited in certain world’s fairs or even in national exhibitions. Our areas of interest are ethnology, colonialism, Christian missions, and folklore.
