INTUSSUSCEPTION is a form of intestinal obstruction that demands immediate recognition and treatment if mortality rates are to be kept at a minimum. The condition is particularly common in the first few years of life, and it must be constantly in the minds of pediatricians and the general practitioners who deal with babies and young children.
