Color tunable luminescence characteristics and energy transfer analysis of Dy3+/Sm3+ co-doped multicomponent borosilicate glasses

2021
Abstract Dy3+/Sm3+ co-doped multicomponent borosilicate glasses were prepared via melt quenching method. The effect of co-doping in the luminescent features of the prepared glasses was analysed using photoluminescent (PL) emission and decay profiles. Variation in PL emission intensity and the lifetime values attributes to the existence of an energy transfer mechanism and is validated the energy transfer route predicted from the spectral overlap diagram. Better luminescent features and CIE chromaticity co-ordinates recommends the present glassy system for lighting applications.
