Preparation of open-cell polyurethane nanocomposite foam with Ag 3 PO 4 and GO: antibacterial and adsorption characteristics

2021
Synthesized open-cell nanocomposite foam presents the antibacterial and high-adsorption properties. The Ag3PO4 nanoparticles were synthesized and dispersed in flexible open-cell polyurethane foam that causes well antibacterial activity properties against two kinds of common bacteria (E. coli) and (S. aureus). Graphene oxide was coated on the Ag3PO4 open-cell foam with great high-adsorption performance to remove the dye. The structure of prepared GO/Ag3PO4 polyurethane nanocomposite foam was confirmed by XRD, SEM, and EDX analysis. For modeling and optimizing of the dye adsorption process was applied the response surface methodology (RSM). The optimum conditions demonstrate that the adsorption efficiency of 97% for 0.05 gr of the open-cell nanocomposite. The dye adsorption by GO/Ag3PO4 polyurethane foam is more accordant with the Freundlich isotherm model (R2 = 0.99) and the pseudo-first-order kinetic model (R2 = 0.98).
