Study on the chemical constituents of Curcuma phaeocaulis

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents of the rhizome of Curcuma phaeocaulis Val.Methods: The constituents were isolated by column chromatography and their structures elucidated by chemical properties and spectroscopic analysis.Results: Five compunds have been isolated and identified as isocurcumenol, curcumenol,α-spinasterol,curcumin,and β-sitosterin-3-O-glucoside.Conclusion: α-spinasterol and β-stediol were isolated from Curcuma phaeocaulis Val.for the first time.
