Nutritional Intervention to Help Prevent and Cure Longevity Disorders

Longevity is rapidly increasing in all industrialized countries, with important socioeconomic consequences, (social security and pension funds expenses, cost of health care, etc.) During the last 50 years, longevity increased by about 20 years and the population above 65 is expected to double by the year 2030 in most industrialized countries. This increase in longevity is due to improvement in hygiene and medical care, but also of nutrition. (Fig. 1)
