The θεός and κύριος Terms in the Isaiah Text and their Impact on the New Testament: Some Observations

This chapter, intents to make some preliminary remarks based on observations on the use of the e, and despt'? terms in the Isaiah text against its Hebrew backdrop. It briefly considers the Vorgeschichte of these terms as per the Isaiah text; stated differently, one is compelled to consider the state of a possible Hebrew Vorlage in this regard. The section of the investigation in the chapter is followed by an overview of possible tendencies where disregarding the rule of thumb would demonstrate to be most prolific. It reflects on the impact that the discrepancies might have been on the New Testament authors. The chapter concludes that the term ןודא is consistently rendered using the term δeσποτης as a Greek equivalent, while the term ϰυριος was primarily employed as the Greek equivalent for the term ינדא and הוהי.
