A process for producing an ink image and impressions thereof.

Ink images are prepd. by (1) forming a composite of (a) a printing plate with ink receptive and ink repelling areas, (b) a heated thermosensitive ink layer, and (c) a resin sheet; (2) cooling the composite; and (3) peeling the printing plate and resin sheet apart so that the ink present is the ink repelling areas of the printing plate transfer to the resin sheet.
