2 GeV full-scale energy range charge preamplifier for Pigmy Dipole Resonance study in 68 Ni nuclei

2017
In order to upgrade the performance of the frontend of the silicon layers of the FARCOS telescopes especially in terms of the available full-scale energy range (up to 2 GeV) to study the Pigmy Dipole Resonance in $^{68}$ Ni nuclei (i.e. with an isoscalar probe) we developed a CMOS frontend in C35B4C3 AMS technology for the readout of the Double Sided Silicon Strip Detectors of the FARCOS telescopes. The preamplifier features a continuous-reset feedback and an input PMOS transistor in telescopic cascode configuration. In this work we present the design of the charge preamplifier and the results of the experimental qualification of a prototype version of the circuit.
