Fabry-Perot interferometry with an Image Acquisition System and its application to an analysis of the Doppler profile excited by controlled electron impact.
1989
A new optical instrument has been designed and constructed for measurements of Doppler profiles produced in molecular dissociation under controlled electron-impact excitation. The Doppler profiles were measured at a high optical resolution (0.1∼0.01 A) with a Fabry-Perot interferometer equipped with a Photon-Counting Image Acquisition System. Use of a image aquisition system increased the sensitivity of the Doppler profile measurements by about ten times in comparison with a conventional photon counting method.
