Stress of special education teachers for extra professional support in primary schools and in special schools with lower educational standard
2016
This thesis introduces the concept of stress and burnout. Each is very much present in today’s modern way of living and in one way presents a constant battle between work and time as one tries to manage professional and personal life. Even though stress and burnout are two different concepts that have little in common, there is something that connects them. Stress is most often the reason for or a cause of burnout of individuals and can last for a short period of time, while burnout, which can become a chronic condition, can last for years. We were interested whether there are any connections between the frequency and the intensity of stress and consequently of the burnout syndrome using variables like sex, age, work environment, general years of service, years of service at a current work place, work title and amount of sick days. In our thesis we have included special education teachers in mobile services who implement the educational program with adjusted implementation and extraprofessional support as well as special education teachers in special schools with lower educational standard. We have created an online survey questionnaire, where we have used the Maslach Burnout Inventroy (MBI).
