Working Together Cross-Border to Promote Practice Development
2004
The report details the steps taken in the cross-border project and the qualitiative methods used throughout. The findings of the seven focus groups from the border region (which were largely practitioner-led rather than involving managers) are detailed. These led to distinct themes emerging in the research which community nurses saw as important in any health promotion work they would do - the different nature of health practice in border areas, the importance of both isolation and networking, education and personal development. The report also gives details of recommendations for primary care practices in the border region and describes the formation of a Cross-Border Nursing Network.
