Centro de rehabilitación para adicciones, barrio Voz de los Andes

2020
The neighborhood Voz de los Andes, located between Inaquito, Jipijapa, and Rumipamba has a unique layout that results in a high traffic flow of cars and pedestrians. As a part of the Diez de Agosto Avenue this neighborhood shows a macro centrality, keeping the land usage predominately for buildings directly related with financial, administrative, and commercial activities. Nevertheless, the location has suffered a rupture in the conformation of the city, resulting in a moving trend of people to the city surroundings. Even though the IESS building exists as a focus point for public attention the intervened zone does not have dedicated infrastructure for public health and wellbeing. As a result, this project proposes the development of a rehabilitation center addicts, focused mainly in teenagers between 12 and 18 years old, which is the age range most affected by this issue. The building will be conformed by 3 pavilions designated to the isolation of patients based on the level of addiction each one has (minimum isolation, moderate isolation, maximum isolation). In addition, the study of different theories has been made in order to apply to the project a variety of parameters such as interior exterior relationship, management of different scales, flexibility of spaces, and presence of inner gardens for outdoor activities. All the parameters mentioned have been thoroughly applied to contribute to the rehabilitation and later labor reinsertion of the patients into society.
