Linear two-frequency laser-diode-pumped continuous-wave Nd3+:YAG laser with a phase-anisotropic cavity

Abstract A linear two-frequency cw Nd 3+ :YAG laser with laser-diode pumping at the wavelength λ = 1.06 μm is described. Stable lasing in two linear axial modes with mutually orthogonal polarizations is implemented within the range of intermode separations from 5 MHz up to approximately 9 GHz. The maximum frequency range of double-mode lasing achieved is about 9 GHz.
