Estado de salud y su percepción en trabajadores cubanos de diferentes sectores ocupacionales

Introduction :  In occupational health and safety of labor organizations in Cuba there are breaches in the protection against occupational risks, increasing of non-transmissible chronic diseases and affectation of work dimension in their life quality, being a health problem to pay attention first and foremost.  Objectives :  To characterize workers of three occupational sectors, to describe the health-disease process to each sector and to evaluate the life quality related withto health.  Material and method : A descriptive and cross-sectional epidemiological study with non-randomized sampling to 15 Cuban labor organizations was design; since January 2015 up to December 2016. 395 individual were selected stratified in the sectors: industry 240, agriculture 85 and services 70. Cuban version of questionnaire SF-36 was applied and data analysis was realized by means SSPS.  Results : The studied sample was predominant between 31 and 60 years old, 56 % male, 66 % with middle-high education, females with majority as technical and male as operatives and executives.  Conclusions : The individual studied were characterized according with variables considered in the design. Occupational risks were identified as a problem to attend by occupational health with a necessary strengthening in its action. Majority of the workers perceive as “satisfactory” their health conditions, physical better than mental, with a vulnerable group with deterioration in both, requiring attention with approach of occupational risk, genre and population aging
