Analysis and Evaluation on Shear Stress of Asphalt Pavement on Cement Concrete Surface

Considering inconvenience to directly calculate the shear stress of the most dangerous fracture surface,this paper puts forward the method of calculating octahedral shear stress instead of the shear stress on the most dangerous fracture surface for analysis and evaluation of asphalt-pavement structure shear resistance.It is indicated from the result that the approach of obtaining octahedral shear stress through mechanical analysis combined with the approach of determining material's shear stress parameters through unconfined compression test and penetration test can jointly constitute an effective methodological system for analysis and evaluation of asphalt pavement shear resistance.The distribution curve along depth of octahedral shear stress may provide main reference for asphalt pavement design and material selection.
