An Empirical Study on the Social Consumer Behavior in China

2013
This article makes an empirical research on the social consumer behavior in China. It is found that there is a long-term equilibrium and granger causality relationship between final consumption and GDP, and that the long-term and the short-term multipliers of final consumption are all lesser, thus there is objectively a low contribution on the economic growth, and that the effect of the long-term flexibility and the short-term flexibility of the final consumption is also small and there is a certain two-way interaction mechanism between final consumption growth and GDP growth. Social consumption behavior has exclusive characteristics. The government short-term intervene in the economy has a certain theoretical basis. Just about the Linear model and Log-linear regression model, there is certain complementary between these two. The article proposes the policy recommendations that can start-up domestic demand.
